Carlo Acquista is beginning his second season as Head Men's soccer coach at Adelphi University.

In his first season, Acquista led the Panthers to a 4-11-3 overall record, 2-2-1 in ASC play while producing three ASC All-Conference honors including first team honoree, Mark Hoffman as well as Player of the Year, Patrick Figueiredo and Rookie of the Year Koutsounadis.

Acquista comes to Adelphi from St. Francis College (NY), where he held the position of head coach for the past five seasons. During that time, Acquista had his strongest season in 2004, guiding the Terriers to an 8-9-1 record and a fifth place finish in the Northeast Conference, including wins over Vermont, Stony Brook and Monmouth.

A graduate of St. John's University (2000), Acquista was a four-year member of the Red Storm men's soccer team. He helped St. John's capture an NCAA Division I National title in 1996 and also had a hand in two Big East Championship teams.

Acquista's coaching experience includes stints as an assistant coach at Hofstra University and as a volunteer assistant at St. John's in addition to a posting as an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Knights of the Premier Development League. Acquista also held coaching positions with the Storm Soccer Academy and as the director of coaching for the Brooklyn Knights.

Before his collegiate career, Acquista attended Holy Cross High School where he was part of three straight CHSAA city championship teams (1993-95).

Acquista earned a degree in sports management from St. John's and graduated from Adelphi University with a master's degree in sports management.
