Garden City, N.Y. - Former Adelphi University men's lacrosse player Marc Burton (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) has cracked the roster of the New York Titans National Lacrosse League (NLL) squad. Burton will make his home debut on February 15 at Madison Square Garden at 8:00 pm in a game against the Rochester Knighthawks.

Burton was Adelphi's second leading assist getter last season tallying 13 helpers to go along with his 19 goals. The former Canadian box lacrosse all star arrived in Garden City from Bellarmine University in 2007 before playing two season's as a Panther. He completed his two-year stint in 2008 with 29 goals and 20 assists.

Burton solidified his spot on the Titans roster after leading the team with three goals in preseason action against the Philadelphia Wings two weeks ago.

"We congratulate Marc on his achievement and are proud to see him continue his lacrosse playing career on the professional level," Head Coach Gordon Purdie said.

The National Lacrosse League is North America's oldest professional indoor lacrosse league, featuring 13 teams playing in the major markets of the United States and Canada. NLL teams each play a 16-game regular season schedule that begins in December and runs through April, followed by the Champion's Cup Playoffs.

The Titans play their first contest on Saturday, January 3rd at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida against the Toronto Rock.
