Garden City, N.Y. - Taking its lead from the East Coast Conference, Adelphi University will Webcast all of its home conference games for the 2006-07 season as announced by Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Robert Hartwell. A total of 20 games will be broadcast online and will include live audio and video streaming. Fans can access the games via www.aupanthers.com.

"This is an exciting step for us," Hartwell said. "It is great for fans, parents and alumni to stay connected with our teams. It is also a positive move for our corporate partners and is potentially helpful to them. It should open doors for us."

The Webcasts will also allow Adelphi the opportunity to highlight its many athletic events and programs as well as showcase student-athlete accomplishments both on and of the playing field as well as feature Adelphi coaches and administrators.

The web schedule kicked off last week with a non-conference doubleheader as Adelphi hosted Merrimack College for the women's game and Bloomfield College for the men's contest. The next home game is Wednesday, November 29 with coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Veteran announcer Joel Blumberg will handle the play-by-play while color commentating duties will be shared by former Adelphi assistant coach, Jim Pittman, noted Division II basketball expert Chris Granozio and Chris Williams. Shannon Bennett will round out the broadcast crew serving as a sideline reporter. There is no charge to fans to tune in any of the broadcasts which will be a joint production of JBF Remote Service and Timeline.
