Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University Athletic Director Robert Hartwell announced the elevation of Dom Scala to full-time status as Assistant Director for Athletic Development, effective September 1, 2008. Scala will also continue to guide the baseball program as head coach.

Scala has been a member of the Adelphi athletic department for the past five years as head baseball coach. In that time he has posted a record of 125-106, including two appearances in the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional and ECC Coach of the Year honors in 2005. In addition Scala has produced two All-Americans and had four players earn spots on professional baseball team, including 2008 third round draft pick Bobby Lanigan.

In his time at Adelphi Scala has been a proven fundraiser and as Assistant Director for Athletic Development will be responsible for coordinating the athletic department's fund raising efforts.
