May 16, 2007 Garden City, N.Y. - Senior pitcher Mike Myers has been named the Northeast Region Pitcher of the Year and is also a Daktronics Baseball All-Northeast Region first-team honoree as announced May 16. This is Myers first Daktronics all-region selection and Pitcher of the Year honor. Myers, the 2007 East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year and first-team all-conference selection, helped led the Panthers to the ECC championship and the number two seed in the upcoming NCAA Division II Northeast Regional. A native of Wantagh, New York, Myers ranks 48th in the nationin with with nine and is perfect 9-0 on the year. He is also 55th in the country in strikeouts per nine innings. The Panthers will open the NCAA Regional at 2:30 pm on May 17 against fifth seeded Bryant. All games will be played at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire. |
