Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University Head Baseball Coach Dom Scala is celebrating the release of his first book, One on One Baseball Fundamentals Made Simple For Players and Coaches. Today is the official launch date and he will be signing copies of the book in the Center for Recreation & Sports atrium from 7pm-9pm. A portion of the sales of this book will go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The book will take you on a journey from when Dom was five years old in his first Yankee uniform with a dream to be a pro ball player, to his high school and college days of breaking school records as well as his pro career with the Oakland A's, NY Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates. And of course the heart and soul of this book, instructions, drills and illustrations from his very successful baseball camps. There are also great baseball stories and tips from former major league all stars Willie Randolph, John Franco, Bucky Dent, Lee Mazzilli and Hall of Famer Goose Gossage. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who participated in this book. It gave me the opportunity to give something back to the game I love. To see all of you improve each day is a joy to me and my staff. I hope you continue to come to our camps so you can someday experience what baseball has done for me. It really is a dream come true," Scala said. The Adelphi Panthers are hosting Queens College this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and the campus bookstore will also have copies of the book available for sale at the game. |
