Brookville, N.Y. - The Adelphi University baseball team traveled to Brookville, New York on Thursday, May 1 for an East Coast Conference contest against C.W. Post. Bobby Lanigan went the distance, striking out 10 and holding the Pioneers to just six hits to led Adelphi to the win. With the victory the Panthers improve to 21-22 overall and 12-12 in the ECC.

The Panthers struck in the second inning of play and it was quick, as Chris Weidlein homered to left field, giving Adelphi a 1-0 cushion. Two innings later a Matt Kenney single to right brought Weidlein home, making the score 2-0 after four innings of play.

A Mike Mongiello single to right allowed Weidlein to cross home plate for the third time on the day in the sixth and that was more then enough run support for Lanigan, who scattered six hits over nine innings to collect the win.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, May 3 when they travel to Sparkill, New York for a 12:00 pm meeting with St. Thomas Aquinas.
