Nov. 22, 2006 Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Matt Dispensa (College Point, N.Y.), a member of the Adelphi University Cross-Country/Track & Field Team and a business management major, recently signed up for a student membership to the Panther Club, becoming the first student-athlete to join for the 2006-07 season. "I wanted to support athletics and be more involved with the university," Dispensa said. "It was important to me that I was also able to give my money back to the cross-country program." Dispensa had an impressive cross-country season, earning first-team All-Conference honors en route to a third place finish to guide the Panthers to their first East Coast Conference title in five years. He also finished 23rd in the NCAA Regionals with a personal best time of 32:56.1, helping Adelphi to a fourth place showing out of 20 teams. Student membership in the Panther Club is $10 and includes a membership card and pin as well as access to the Panther Newsletter and special invitations to Panther Club events.
