Oct. 17, 2006 Harrison, N.Y. - Senior Jaime Julia-Perez (Amsterdam, N.Y.), sophomore Ify Anene (Reynoldsburg, OH) were both named East Coast Conference (ECC) Runners of the Week, while freshman Heather Troutman (Whiteford, MD) was honored as Co-Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on October 16. This is the fifth honor for Julia-Perez, the second for Anene and the first selection for Troutman. Julia-Perez placed 35th overall at the 40th annual Albany Invitational, crossing the line in the 8K race with a time of 25:53. Julia-Perez was the first Division II finisher across the line, helping the Panthers to a 14th place finish out of 27 competing teams. Anene covered the 5K course at the 40th annual Albany Invitational in a time of 19:46 to capture 84th overall and help Adelphi to a 16th place finish out of 22 competing teams. Troutman set a collegiate 5K best at the Albany Invitational, covering the 5K course in 21:14. Her time placed her 143rd overall and eclipsed her previous best by 22 seconds. The Panthers return to action on Sunday, October 22 when they travel to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx to take part in the ECC Championship Meet. |
