Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University senior Jaime Julia-Perez (Amsterdam, N.Y.) has been named the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Co-Runner of the Week, as announced by the conference office on September 20, 2006. This is the first ECAC honor for Perez this season, who shared the award with Ruben Sanca of The University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

Perez was the top East Coast Conference (ECC) finisher at the New York University Invitational on Saturday, September 16, 2006, as he covered the 8K course in a time of 27:10. Perez placed sixth out of 294 finishers in the event, as he helped the Panthers take fifth out of 35 teams. The senior was also named East Coast Conference Co-Runner of the Week.

Adelphi will return to action on Saturday, September 23 when they travel to Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts to compete in the Codfish Bowl.
