July 25, 2007 Garden City, N.Y. - On Saturday, November 3, 2007 teammates, coaches and friends, past and present, will celebrate 60 years of cross-country/track & field at Adelphi. The celebration will be held in conjunction with the NCAA Division II Northeast Cross-Country Regional, which is being host by Adelphi University at Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx, New York. Dear Alumni, Friends and Supporters, On November 3, 2007 Adelphi University will have the privilege of hosting the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Cross-Country meet at Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx, New York. This event also coincides with the 60th anniversary of Cross-Country and Track and Field competition at Adelphi. To honor this milestone the Adelphi Athletic Department, with support from Alumni Relations will host a 60th Anniversary Celebration in conjunction with the Regional meet. Everyone will be invited to attend the meet that morning. Check-in and registration will start at 9:30 am and there will be a tent (set-up) with a light breakfast. This will also give you an opportunity to catch-up with some of your old teammates and friends as well as to meet some of the current student-athletes. The women's championship race will go off at 11:00 am, followed by the men's championship race at noon. Immediately following the awards presentation, there will be time for everyone in attendance to meet with the student-athletes who competed in the championship races as well as the coaching staff. The celebration will culminate that evening with a 5:30 pm cocktail hour and dinner in the ballroom of the Ruth S. Harley University Center on the Garden City campus. There will be a small registration fee, which will cover the cost of the breakfast, dinner and a commemorative t-shirt.
