Cross-Country Closes Out The 2007 Season at the IC4A/ECAC Championship Meet

Bronx, N.Y. - The Adelphi University cross-country team traveled to Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday, November 17 to compete in the IC4A/ECAC Championship Meet. The women placed 20th out of 25 competing teams in the ECAC University Championship race, while the men took home 16th out of 25 teams.

Jennifer Malenovsky led the women's team, placing 63rd overall in 20:00, while Melissa Coelho covered the 5K course in 20:44, placing 97th. Danielle Matteo was just nine seconds back in 110th (20:53) and was followed by Jenilee Fuertes (21:09) in 127th and Danielle Connor (21:17) in 132nd.

Matt Dispensa led the men, covering the 8K course in 26:40, placing 18th overall. Dispensa is the second Panther in two years to earn IC4A All-East honors, joining Jaime Julia-Perez. Ryan Pezzulo was next across the line in 68th (27:34), and was followed by Adam Clark in 104th (28:14), Mike Dorman in 109th (28:19) and Carlos Techera in 121st (28:29).

The women closed out the 2007 season as the ECC conference champions and placed fourth at the NCAA Division II Regional, while the men placed second and the conference meet and sixth at the regional.
