Bronx, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NYCAC Championships on Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park. The men edged out St. Thomas Aquinas by one point to claim third, while the women finished just 20 points behind New Haven to collect third.

In the men's race Mike Marzano (Whitestone, N.Y.) led the Panther attack, finishing in a time of 28:40 placing 12th overall and earning All-Conference honors. Will Marshall (Laurelton, N.Y.) finished one second ahead of teammate Aaron Warner (Queens Village, N.Y.). Marshall stopped the clock at 29:38 to place 17th, while Warner crossed the line in 29:39 to place 18th overall. Matt Dispensa (College Point, N.Y.) was Adelphi's fourth runner across the line in a time of 30:13 to place 20th overall. Mike Dorman (Albertson, N.Y.) clocked in at 32:35, placing 40th.

On the women's side Katie DiPietro (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) turned in a top-ten finish, placing ninth in a time of 21:06 to earn All-Conference honors. Melissa Coelho (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Diane Buonpane (Holbrook, N.Y.) finished 16th and 17th overall, missing out on All-Conference status by just one place. Coelho turned in a time of 21:52 and Buonpane finished the five kilometer course in 21:56. Meghan Farrell (Holtsville, N.Y.) stopped the clock at 22:42 to place 27th overall. Nadine Rossi (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) was Adelphi's fifth runner across the line in a time of 22:45 to place 28th overall.

St. Thomas Aquinas harrier Tim Morgan won the men's race in a time of 26:32. Alissa Von Schmidt of New Haven took home the women's title in a time of 19:07. C.W. Post sweep the team competitions winning both the men's and women's team titles, New Haven placed second as a team in both races.

Adelphi returns to action on November 7th when they travel to Boston, Massachusetts to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional held at Franklin Park.
