Cross-Country Competes at Paul Short Invite

Bethlehem, PA - The Adelphi University cross-country team traveled to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 28 to compete in the Paul Short Invite at Lehigh University. The women placed 19th out of 33 competing teams, while the men took home 17th out of 39 teams.

Junior Ify Anene led the way for Adelphi placing 35th overall in a time of 23:59 over the 6K course. Anene was followed by junior Lindsay LaFleur in 88th (24:57) and freshman Barbara Green, who placed 116th (25:26). Sophomore Heather Troutman and junior Margaret Penner rounded out Adelphi's top-five, placing 123rd (25:26) and 134th (25:34).

The men were led for the third straight meet by senior Matt Dispensa, who covered the 8K course in 26:43 to place 27th overall. Senior Mike Dorman and junior Carlos Techera were the next two Panthers across the line, placing 58th and 78th overall in times of 27:28 and 27:44. Freshmen Tom Eickelberg and Adam Clark rounded out Adelphi's top-five, placing 131st (28:24) and 132nd overall (28:25).

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, October 13 when they travel to Albany, New York to compete in the Albany Invitational.
