Cross Country Places Seventh At Tidewater Fall Classic

Salisbury, Maryland - The Adelphi University men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Maryland to compete in the Tidewater Fall Classic on October 2nd. Both the men and the women took home seventh place overall.

Will Marshall (Laurelton, N.Y.) paced the men's team, claiming 49th in a time of 28:05. Mike Marzano (Whitestone, N.Y.) was right behind Marshall, finishing 52nd in 28:23. Aaron Warner (Queens Village, N.Y.), Matt Dispensa (College Point, N.Y.) and Mike Dorman (Albertson, N.Y.) round out the top five for Adelphi. Warner finished 69th with a time of 29:45, Dispensa placed 73rd with a clocking of 30:26 and Dorman finished the five-mile course in 31:08, good enough for 76th.

The women were led by Katie DiPietro (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), who just missed out on a top-ten, placing 11th. DiPietro covered the six kilometer course in a time of 23:21. Melissa Coelho (Wantagh, N.Y.) was Adelphi's second finisher, placing 38th with a clocking of 25:21. Meghan Farrell (Holtsville, N.Y.) crossed the line in 26:53 to claim 52nd, just ahead of Nadine Rossi (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) who placed 56th in a time of 27:19. Jen Mayo (Floral Park, N.Y.) rounds out the top five for Adelphi placing 63rd in a time of 28:25.

Adelphi returns to action on October 17th when they travel to Albany, New York to compete in the Albany Invitational.
