Waterford, CT - The Adelphi University cross-country team traveled to Waterford, Connecticut on Saturday, September 22 to compete in the Connecticut College Invitational. The men placed tenth out of 19 competing teams, while the women posted a ninth place finish in a field of 14 schools. Matt Dispensa led the men, placing 33rd overall in a time of 26:27, while teammate Ryan Pezzulo also cracked the 27 minute mark, crossing the line in 26:55 to capture 54th. Mike Dorman was Adelphi's third runner to score, placing 70th in a time of 27:22 with Adam Clark just 10 seconds back in 82nd place. Carlos Techera rounded out Adelphi's top-five, stopping the clock at 27:55, which was good enough for 95th overall. The women were led by Danielle Connor's 32nd place finish. Connor covered the 6K course in 24:26, followed by Meghan Farrell in 25:39 (65th), Melissa Coelho in 25:41 (66th) and Barbara Green in 25:44 (68th). Heather Troutman rounded out Adelphi's top-five, crossing the line in 26:07 (80th). Adelphi returns to action on Friday, September 28 when they travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to compete in the Paul Short Run. |
