Waterford, CT - The Adelphi men and women's cross-country teams traveled to Harkness Memorial State Park on Saturday, September 9 to compete in the Connecticut Cross-Country Invitational. The women placed 11th overall, missing out on a top-10 finish by just five points, while the men place 12th overall.

Junior Danielle Connor (Lake Grove, N.Y.) and sophomore Ify Anene (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) both placed in the top-30. Connor finished 19th overall in a time of 19:26, while Anene place 30th, stopping the clock at 19:41. Sophomore Lindsay LaFluer (Holbrook, N.Y.) was Adelphi's third runner across the line in a collegiate best 21:01, placing 103rd. Junior Melissa Coelho (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Heather Troutman (Whiteford, MD) rounded out Adelphi's top-five, placing 128th (21:26) and 158th (22:08).

Senior Jaime Julia-Perez (Amsterdam, N.Y.) led the men's team, placing 22nd overall in a time of 25:55. Juniors Mike Dorman (Albertson, N.Y.) and Matt Dispensa (College Point, N.Y.) were the next two Adelphi runners across the line in personal bests of 27:23 (78th) and 27:50 (105th). Sophomores Sean Harte (Queens Village, N.Y.) and Carlos Techera (Bayside, N.Y.) round out the top-five, placing 120th overall (28:06) and 164th (28:46).

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, September 16 when they travel to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York to compete in the New York University Invitational.
