Bethpage, N.Y. - The Adelphi University cross-country team traveled to Bethpage State Park in Bethpage, New York to compete in the fourth annual Hofstra Invitational. Both the men and the women captured the Division I, II and III titles with the men scoring 20 points and the women 23 in the win. Both programs also captured the overall results as the women out paced St. John's 26-44 and the men topped NJIT for first 32-58.

The women placed five in the top-nine as senior Danielle Matteo placed second overall in 19:03. She was followed closely by freshman Gina Cristaldi who placed third overall in 19:18 and sophomore Kristen Wojtuniak in fifth with a time of 19:39. Juniors Danielle Lyons and Catherine Connors rounded out Adelphi's top-five in seventh and ninth overall as they crossed the finish with times of 20:06 and 20:14.

The men were paced by sophomore Angel Ortega in fourth overall in a time of 15:55, while junior Adam Clark came home in sixth, stopping the clock at 16:08. Senior Carlos Techera rounded out the top-10 as he crossed the line in 16:17, while freshman Andrew Coelho and Tom Clark rounded out Adelphi's top-five in 12th and 16th overall with times of 16:23 and 16:36.

Adelphi will return to action on Saturday, September 19 when they travel to Dartmouth, Massachusetts to compete in the UMASS-Dartmouth invitational.
