Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University track and field athlete Danielle Lyons (South Glastonbury, CT) has been named East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, January 30. This is the second straight week that Lyons has been honored by the conference, sharing the honor with Lyra Clark of UMass-Lowell.

Lyons competed at the Great Dane Classic on January 25 running the championship section of the 800 meter run. She placed fourth overall and was the top Division II/III finisher in the event, lowering her own school record to 2:18.75.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, February 2 when they travel to Newark, Delaware to compete in the Thomson Invitational, hosted by the University of Delaware.
