The Adelphi men and women's track and field team traveled to New Haven, Connecticut on Sunday, December 3 to open up the 2006-07 indoor season. The women collected a fifth place showing, scoring a total of 19 points, while the men placed sixth with 15 points.

The women picked up a first place finish in the 4x1600 meter relay, outdistancing Sacred Heart by 10 seconds to pick up the win. Ify Anene (Reynoldsburg, N.Y.), Carissa DeMelfi (Shirley, N.Y.), Lindsay LaFluer (Holbrook, N.Y.) and Elise Maniguet (Pine Bush, N.Y.) combined to clock 23:04.24.

Danielle Connor (Lake Grove, N.Y.) and Melissa Coelho (Wantagh, N.Y.) combined to finish second in the 5000-meter relay. Connor crossed the line in 19:57.56, followed by Coelho in 20:29.84. The Panthers other top-three finish came in the 4x800 meter relay as Maniguet teamed with Meghan Farrell (Holtsville, N.Y.), Margaret Penner (Malverne, N.Y.) and Heather Troutman (Whiteford, MD) to place third in a time of 10:38.8.

The men were led by Jaime Julia-Perez (Amsterdam, N.Y.) and Matt Dispensa (College Point, N.Y.) who combined to place first in the 5000-meter relay. Perez crossed the line first overall in a time of 15:25.23, followed by Dispensa in third with a time of 16:04.58.

Adelphi's only other top-three finish came in the Distance Medley where Perez teamed with Sean Harte (Queens Village, N.Y.), Aaron Warner (Queens Village, N.Y.) and Mark Pollard (Deer Park, N.Y.) to take second overall in a time of 10:48.71.

The Panthers return to the track on Friday, December 8 at the Princeton New Year's Invitational.
