Philadelphia, PA - The Adelphi University track and field team traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 28-29 to compete in the 111th running of the Penn Relays. Both Adelphi's men and women competed in the Collegiate Track Conference 4x400 meter relay heats.

The women's team comprised of senior Katie DiPietro (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and freshmen Morgan Russell (Baldwin, N.Y.), Ashley Merkle (Bohemia, N.Y.) and Megan Murphy (Lynbrook, N.Y.) ran on Thursday evening. The Panthers clocked their fastest time of the season (4:23.17), placing fifth in their heat.

The men competed on Friday evening and finished less then half a second out of sixth, placing seventh in a season's best time of 3:30.7. The team was comprised of senior Ryan Soltan (Sayville, N.Y.), junior Mike Marzano (Whitestone, N.Y.) and freshmen Aaron Warner (Queens Village, N.Y.) and Sean Murphy (Lynbrook, N.Y.).

Adelphi closes out their season on May 6 at the King's Point Invitational
