Lowell, MA - The Adelphi University track and field team traveled to Lowell, Massachusetts to compete in the George Davis Invitational, hosted by UMass-Lowell on April 14. The Panthers posted a combined 13 top-10 finishes including an event win by Jaime Julia-Perez (Amsterdam, N.Y.). The women were led by Morgan Russell (Baldwin, N.Y.) and Danielle Connor (Lake Grove, N.Y.), who both produced top-five finishes. Russell placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (28.07), while Connor took home fifth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:21.86. The men collected five top-five finishes and were paced by Julia-Perez, who picked up the win in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:22.88. The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Aaron Warner (Queens Village, N.Y.), Brian Chaback (Oceanside, N.Y.), Sean Murphy (Lynbrook, N.Y.) and Mark Pollard (Deer Park, N.Y.) missed out on first by a second, clocking in with a season's best of 3:24.65. Pollard and Warner also produced as individuals, with Pollard placing fifth in the long jump (6.45 meters) and Warner placing fifth in the 800-meter run (1:58.55). Daryl Lewis (Oak Ridge, NJ) also picked-up a fifth place finish in the shot put with a toss of 13.88 meters. The Panthers return to action on Saturday and Sunday April 21 and 22 when they travel to Center Valley, Pennsylvania to compete in the Collegiate Track Conference Championships. |
