Boston, MA - The Adelphi University track and field team traveled to Boston, Massachusetts on Friday, January 26 to compete at the Boston University Terrier Invitational. As a team, the Panthers posted six individual personal records and two relay season bests and a school record. Matt Dispensa (College Point, N.Y.) and Mike Dorman (Albertson, N.Y.) both set personal bests in the 5000-meter run. Dispensa placed 31st overall, chopping 30 seconds off of his previous best with a 15:34.86, while Dorman sliced 40 seconds off of his previous best effort with a 15:53.25 clocking (38th overall). Sean Harte (Queens Village, N.Y.) also lowered his personal best in the mile, stopping the clock at 4:31.63 to place 71st. Mark Pollard (Deer Park, N.Y.) also dropped his personal best in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.71. The men also set a season best in the distance medley relay as Harte, Dispensa, Pollard, and Carlos Techera (Bayside, N.Y.) teamed up to place 10th in 10:37.99. Margaret Penner (Malvern, N.Y.) and Elise Maniguet (Pine Bush, N.Y.) both lowered their collegiate bests in the 800 meter run with times of 2:33.08 and 2:25.09. Penner and Maniguet teamed with Ify Anene (Reynoldsburg, OH) and Heather Troutman (Whiteford, MD) to set a school record in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:55.48. Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, February 3 when they travel to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the DeShriver Invitational. |
