Kingston, RI - The Adelphi University track and field team traveled to Kingston, Rhode Island to compete in the Sorlein Memorial Indoor Classic at the University of Rhode Island on January 20. The women posted five top-10 finishes, while men collected three top-finishes. Elise Maniguet (Pine Bush, N.Y.) had a strong day, placing 11th in the mile (5:24.76) and then placing 16th in the 800 (2:28.76). Lindsay LaFluer (Holbrook, N.Y.) also ran well, placing ninth in the 3000 meter run in 11:01.99. Morgan Russell (Baldwin, N.Y.) picked-up an eighth place finish in the 55 meter hurdles (9.34) and a ninth place finish in the triple-jump (8.89 meters), while teammate Lauren Wallace (Sayville, N.Y.) placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 4.41 meters. Mark Pollard (Deer Park, N.Y.) paced the men with a ninth place finish in the 200 meter dash (23.41), while Sean Murphy (Lynbrook, N.Y.) took home 10th in the 400 meter dash (53.52). Daryl Lewis (Oakdale, NJ) also performed well, placing 10th in the shot put with a toss of 13.37 meters. The Panthers return to competition on Friday, January 26 when they travel to Boston, Massachusetts to compete in the Terrier Invitational. |
