New Haven, CT - The Adelphi University track and field team traveled to New Haven, Connecticut on Saturday, January 12 to compete in the Yale University Invitational. The Panthers posted a combined 11 top-15 finishes, including two top-five showings.

The women were led by junior Ify Anene who posted the only individual top-five finish, placing third in the 3000 meter run in a personal best time of 10:33.16. Graduate Student Jennifer Malenovsky and senior Danielle Connor also posted top-15 finishes in the same event. Malenovsky crossed the line in 10:46.55, placing eighth, while Connor picked up 14th in 11:28.55.

Sophomore Jenilee Fuertes picked up a top-15 placing in just her second collegiate meet, finishing 13th in the mile with a time of 5:47.41. Senior teammate Morgan Russell placed 15th in her first hurdle race of the year, crossing the line in 9.94 in the 60 meter hurdles.

The women also ran well in the relays, placing fourth in the 4x800 with a time of 10:14.13, sixth in the distance medley relay (12:52.93) and 10th in the 4x400 meter relay (4:27.04).

The men's only individual top-10 finish was turned in by senior Matt Dispensa, who dipped under nine minutes for the first time in his career in the 3000 meter run, placing eighth in a time of 8:57.95. The men's 4x800 meter relay team also turned in a top-15 performance, placing 12th in a time of 8:16.88.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, January 18 when they travel to the Armory Track and Field Center in New York, New York to compete in the Gotham Cup.
