Swimming Receives Academic Honors From CSCAA

 
 

 
Swimming combined to post a team GPA of 3.431.

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University swim team have been honored with an Academic All-American Team award from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The Panthers achieved a team grade point average of 3.431, earning them the distinction of being selected as a superior team (a GPA of 3.25 or better earns superior recognition).

Junior Matt Jordan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) received individual recognition as a CSCAA Academic All-American. Jordan boasts a 3.866 GPA and placed seventh at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) swim championships in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.48. He also earned the B standard for the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships in the 50-yard freestyle.

At the 2006 ECAC Championships the men's swim team collected 11th place, while the women swam to a 13th place finish.
