Bronx, NY - Swimming continued their season on the road, traveling to the Bronx, New York to race against the Lehman College Lightning. Both Panther squads were able to pick up wins as the women won 109-81, and the men came out on top 125-103. The women had seven individual event winners, while the men put nine in the penthouse. The women were led by Charlotte Davies and Sarah Bove, both picking up two event wins. Davies was first in the 1000 free (11:18.65) and the 200 free (2:09.89), while Bove had wins in the 50 free (28.35) and 100 free (1:00.71). Also touching the wall first were Brittany Ferencik in the 200 IM (2:28.36), Kelly Mark in the 100 fly (1:08.76), and Nicole Mulligan in the 100 back (1:07.27). The relay of Mulligan, Jacquelyn Birkel, Ferencik and Bove rounded out the Panthers first place finishes with a 2:04.57 effort in the 200 Medley. On the men's side, Zachary Terzano, Tory Cozzi, Thomas Eickelberg and Brad Meaney were all double event winners. Terzano picked up wins in the 50 free (23.45) and the 100 back (56.04). Cozzi wins came via the 200 free (1:50.52) and 100 free (50.09), while Eickelberg had wins in the 1000 free (10:51.43) and the 500 free (5:10.69). Meaney was untouched in the 200 IM (2:09.71) and the 100 breast (1:06.69). Other event winners for the Panthers included Steven Gromling in the 100 fly (57.55) and the 200 medley relay team of Meaney, Gromling, Michael Litvinoff and Daniel Sparnroft (1:54.01). The Panthers close their duel with a 1:34.88 effort in the 200 free relay by the team of Cozzi, Litvinoff, Eickelberg and Terzano. The Panthers will return to action when they travel to Wayne, New Jersey to compete against William Patterson University. |
