Nov. 20, 2004 Glassboro, New Jersey - The Adelphi men's and women's swim teams traveled to Glassboro, New Jersey to compete in the Rowan Cup Races held at Rowan University. The men and the women swam well at the AM session, collecting a combined three first place finishes and eight top-five finishes. Jerri Lester (El Paso, Texas) led the women's team with a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle (5:36.65). Lester also had a second place showing in the 200 yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 2:06.65. Nicole Markovits (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) was the only other swimmer on the women's team to claim a top-five finish, placing fifth in the 100 yard butterfly (1:09.37). On the men's side, Charles Castillo (Uniondale, N.Y.) collected a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle (5:13.44) and a second place finish in the 100 yard back stroke (1:01.57). Teammate Arnold Brulhardt (Woodside, N.Y.) placed fourth in the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:22.94. Matt Jordan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) also claimed a first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.10. Senior John Conciatori (Whitestone, N.Y.) also swam well placing third in the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:57.3. The Panthers also took home third in the 400 yard freestyle relay with Conciatori, Brulhardt, Jordan and Joseph Cornacchioli ( Hauppauge, N.Y.) combining to swim a time of 3:32.64.
