Swimming Falls To St. Rose

 
 

 
The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, November 16th.

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi's men's and women's swim teams played host to visiting St. Rose on Saturday, November 13th. Both teams swam well but fell to St. Rose, the men lost by a count of 69-53, while the women dropped a 74-47 decision. With the loss the men's swim team falls to 2-1 in dual meets, while the women even their record at 2-2.

On the men's side the Panthers Charlie Castillo (Uniondale, N.Y.) and Matt Jordan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) were both multiple event winners. Castillo won the 100 yard individual medley and the 100 yard breast stroke, while Jordan took home wins in the 100 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. Timmy Mueller (Merrick, N.Y.) also picked up a first place finish.

The women were led by Jerri Lester (El Paso, Texas) and Amanda Knapp (Utica, N.Y.). Lester claimed wins in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard backstroke, while Knapp won the 50 yard breast stroke and the 100 yard breast stroke.

The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, November 16th when they travel to Montclair, New Jersey to face Montclair at 7:00 pm.
