Swimming Falls To C.W. Post, Sweeps Queens

Flushing, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's and women's swim teams took on both Queens College and C.W. Post in Flushing, New York on November 3rd. The men came away with a 106-71 win against Queens to remain unbeaten on the year, while the women fell to C.W. Post by a count of 72-23 and topped Queens 54-41 to raise their season record to 2-1 in dual meets.

Jerri Lester (El Paso, Texas) paced the women's team, picking up three first place finishes, including Adelphi's only first place finish against C.W. Post. Lester won the 100 yard backstroke against both the Pioneers and Queens and 400 yard individual medley against Queens. Kathy Dodd (Albany, Georgia), Amanda Knapp (Utica, N.Y.) and Victoria Gardner (Middle Village, N.Y.) all picked up first place points against Queens.

The Adelphi men's squad picked up eight individual first place finishes on their way to a 106-71 victory over Queens. Joe Cornacchioli (Hauppauge, N.Y.), John Conciatori (Whitestone, N.Y.) and Matthew Jordan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) were all claimed first in two individual events and helped Adelphi's 200 yard medley relay to a first place finish.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, November 13th when they play host to the College of St. Rose at 1:00 pm in Woodruff Hall.
