Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's and women's swim teams played host to Baruch on Friday, October 21. The men opened the season with a 59-35 win, while the women collected a 57-37 victory. The men were led by Matt Jordan (Valley Stream, N.Y.), who collected two individual first place finishes and one relay first place. Jordan won the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 22.20 seconds and won the 100 yard backstroke (1:04.11). He also teamed with Charlie Castillo (Wantagh, N.Y.), Timmy Mueller (Merrick, N.Y.) and Andrew Meditz (Douglaston, N.Y.) to take first in the 200 yard medley relay (1:45.74). Both Jerri Lester (El Paso, Texas) and Kathy Dodd (Albany, Georgia) were multiple winners on women's side. Lester took home first in the 200 yard individual medley (2:22.87) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:47.88), while Dodd placed first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:12.18) and the 100 yard butterfly (1:10.85). The Panthers return to the pool on Tuesday, November 1 when they play host to Queens College at 6:00 pm. |
