Albany, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's and women's swim team traveled to Albany, New York on Saturday, January 28 to take on St. Rose. The women took home just three individual first place finishes, falling 122-72, while the men lost 127-73 and claimed two individual firsts. With the losses, the women even their record at 4-4 in dual meets, while the men fall to 4-3. Jerri Lester (El Paso, Texas) led the women, posting two out of their three first place finishes. Lester placed first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:27.76) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:18.51). Teammate Amanda Knapp (Utica, N.Y.) was the only other Panther to place first, winning the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:40.72. Charlie Castillo (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Benjamin Dellagiovanna (Forest Hills, N.Y.) each collected a first place finish. Castillo placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.12), while Dellagiovanna took home first in the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.62). The Panthers close out the dual meet portion of their season on Tuesday, January 31 when they travel to Hoboken, New Jersey to take on Stevens Tech at 7:00 pm. |
