Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University golf team was selected to finish fifth overall at the 2009 Northeast-10 Championship in a vote of the conference's 12 head coaches. Le Moyne was selected to claim this year's Northeast-10 Men's Golf Championship, receiving five first place votes and a total of 134 points. The Dolphins edged out the University of Massachusetts Lowell who received two-first place votes and 112 points to earn second. American International College finished third with 104 points followed by Southern New Hampshire University who picked up one-first place vote and 98 points. The Penmen finished slightly ahead of Adelphi University by one vote. However, the Panthers picked up four-first place votes and round out the top-five with 97 points. The two-day championship, which begins on Sunday, Oct. 4, will be held at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston, Massachusetts. The championship will conclude on Monday, Oct. 5 with a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. followed by the awards ceremony. |
