Bloomfield, CT - The Adelphi University golf team competed in the Eagle Shootout in Bloomfield, Connecticut on October 5 and 6. The Panthers shot 600 as a team, which was good enough for a first place finish and placed ahead of Post University (612) and American International College (628). Adelphi also placed four golfers in the top seven, led by Joshua Hamlett and Matt Demeo, who took third with identical scores of 149. Brant Kummerfeld and Stuart Pulkinen shot 151 to round out Adelphi's top-five with fifth place finishes. St. Rose's Matt Horton captured the individual title with a two round score of 145. In four tournaments this fall the Panthers have captured three team titles and one second place finish. Adelphi returns to action on October 12 when they travel to Suffern, New York to compete in the Dominican College Charger Challenge. |
