Marcellus, N.Y. - The Adelphi golf team is currently in fifth place after the first day of the ECAC Division II Golf Championships at the Sunset Ridge golf course in Marcellus, N.Y.

Kevin Loftus shot one-over par 73 to lead Adelphi to an opening round 322 and trails the leader Eric Swenson of Bentley.

Swenson was the only individual under par at the 6,683 yard course. He carded six birdies to put together a two-stroke lead over Loftus.
