Liverpool, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's traveled to Liverpool, New York to compete in the Division II ECAC Championships, which took place October 2 and 3. Adelphi placed two golfers in the top-35 and finished 20th as a team. Mauricio Saavedra was Adelphi's top finisher, placing 21st overall with a two-day total of 150 which was just 10 over par. Jantzen Vargas placed 32nd in the field of 100 golfers with a score of 152, which put him at 12 over par. Peter Alt, Michael Matranga and Mike Hagony round out Adelphi's top-five, placing 73rd, 99th and 100th respectively. The two-day event took place at the Liverpool golf and public country club on a course that was 6,607 yards long with 70 being par. The golf team returns to action on Thursday, October 13 when they travel to Middlefield, Connecticut to compete in the TPU shootout. |
