Adelphi Golf Finishes Seventh At The Mike Bello Tournament

Adelphi opened the season with a solid performance at the Mike Bello Invitational.

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Adelphi University golf team finished seventh overall (316) at Le Moyne College's Mike Bello Invitational. Kevin Loftus was the top finisher for Adelphi, in a six-way tie for seventh place at par 74 at the 6, 213-yard, par 71 Drumlins East Course.

John Seifert tied for 23rd with 77 and Sean Cahalane tied for 34th with 80. Steve Terrana (85) and Brian Bowes (91), tied for 64th and 81st, respectively.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania won the tournament with 293, on the strength of five of the top seven scores. IUP scored an eight-stroke victory over Delhi (301) for the top spot in the 17-team field. Colgate finished third with 304, host Le Moyne finished fourth (313), followed by Roberts Wesleyan (314).

Next up, Adelphi heads to Bath, Pa. on September 26 for the Moravian Invitational.
