Golf Leads After First Round of the Dowling College September Shootout

 
 

 
Matt Demeo leads all golfers after the first round

Riverhead, New York - The Adelphi University golf team traveled to Riverhead, New York to begin the first round of the Dowling College September Shootout yesterday, September 14, at the Long Island National Golf Links. After the first round of play, the Panthers sit in first place in the team standings with a 291-299 lead over Nassau Community College. St. Thomas Aquinas College is currently in third shooting 306 while LeMoyne College and Post University finished the day tied for fourth with 307.

The Panthers were led by sophomore Matt Demeo and senior Brant Kummerfeld as they each placed in the top four in the individual standings after the first round. Demeo leads the standings with 68 followed closely by Garrett Beyor of American International College who shot 70, while Kummerfeld and Kent St. Charles of Pace tied at 71.

Adelphi will try to remain atop the standings in the Shootout as the second round of play begins this morning, September 15 in Riverhead, New York.
