Avondale, PA - The Adelphi University golf team traveled to Avondale, Pennsylvania on September 8 and 9 to compete in the Goldey-Beacom Fall Invitational at the Inniscrone Golf Club. The Panthers placed three athletes in the top-10 and five in the top-40 to capture the victory, 595-611 over East Coast Conference rival Dowling College. Adelphi led 294-300 over Dowling after day one and used a 10 stroke edge on day two (301-311) to capture the 16 stroke win. AIC (616), Millersville (618) and Post University (622) rounded out the top-five. Oliver Hudesman led the charge for the Panthers, carding rounds of 69 and 76 to finish in sole possesion of second with a two-day total of 145. AIC's Garrett Beyor claimed the individual title with a 142 (69-63). Both Brant Kummerfeld and Joshua Hamlett found spots in the top-10, as Kummerfeld finished in a tie for fifth (75-73) at 148 and Hamlett shot a two-day total of 150 (74-76) to complete the tournament in a tie for ninth. Matt Demeo (76-83-159) and Stuart Pulkinen (85-76-161) rounded out the scoring for Adelphi, placing 29th and 38th respectively. Adelphi returns to action on September 14 when they travel to Riverhead, New York to compete in the Dowling College September Shootout at Long Island National Golf Links. |
