Blaine, WA - Adelphi University senior golfer Brant Kummerfeld is now through three of four rounds of golf in Blaine, Washington after day three of the NCAA Division II National Championship tournament, May 21. Kummerfeld shot a three over par round of 74 on the Loomis Trail Golf Course for the third straight day, moving him back into a tie for 20th place overall. Gene Webster of Cal State San Bernardino has been the overall leader for all three days and is currently at even par 213, just nine shots ahead of Kummerfeld. In the team race Cal State San Bernardino leaped over Barry University and is on top by eight strokes (879 to 887), while Sonoma State University sits nine strokes back at 39 over par along with Columbus State. Kummerfeld is currently tied with St. Thomas Aquinas golfer Chris Fitzpatrick as the top placed golfer from the East region and is also the fourth highest placed individual qualifier in the tournament. Play will conclude on Friday, May 22 on the Loomis Trail Golf Course. |
