Riverhead, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's golf team finished eleventh in the 16-team Dowling College Peter King Memorial tournament on Monday, April 2. The two-day, 36-hole event was held at Long Island National Golf Course in Riverhead, NY, and was won by St. Thomas Aquinas (303-299 - 602). Pace (315-302 - 617) came in second while Post (320-300 - 620) finished third. Adelphi shot rounds of 325-321 (646) to land in eleventh.

Adelphi junior Jantzen Vargas (78-79 - 157) led the Panthers with a tie for 13th in the 80-player field. Senior Peter Alt (82-77 - 158) had another impressive spring outing with a tie for 26th place, playing the last 12 holes in one-under par on Monday to shoot a 77. Junior Craig Wiley made a key contribution on Monday with an 82.

Patrick Schwarze of St. Thomas Aquinas (73-68 - 141) edged Mike Dominici of Pace (73-71 - 144) for the individual title.

Adelphi returns to action on April 5 in the two-day Long Island Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Pine Ridge Golf Club in Coram, New York.
