Golf Remains Sixth After Two Days of Action in Florida

 
 

 
Adelphi returns to action on March 6.

Fort Pierce, FL - The Adelphi University golf team remains in sixth place after day two of the three-day, 54-hole St. John's University Treasure Coast Classic, held at Indian Hills Golf Club in Fort Pierce, Florida. Junior Brant Kummerfeld (71-75 - 146) and senior Jantzen Vargas (72-77 - 149) continue to lead the charge for the Panthers as Kummerfeld is in a tie for 20th place while Vargas sits in a tie for 29th place.

Freshman Matt Demeo (77-74 - 151) and junior Oliver Hudesman (78-73 - 151) both played exceptionally well on Wednesday and are tied for 37th place.

Bethune-Cookman continued their blistering play and their two-day 14-under par score (280-271 - 551) leads second-place Boston College (285-285 - 570) and Florida Gulf Coast (286-284 - 570) by nineteen strokes. Toledo (296-285 - 581) and Evansville (299-289 - 588) round out the top five, followed by Adelphi (298-299 - 597) and Creighton (295-304 - 599).

Martin Hising (70-66 - 136) of Johnson and Wales and Daniel Venema of Bethune-Cookman (69-67 - 136) share the lead among individuals at six-under par.

The Panthers also received a strong showing from senior Joe Ostrowski (82-79 - 161).

Adelphi will return to action on Thursday, March 6, in the final round of the St. John's University Treasure Coast Classic at Indian Hills Golf Club in Fort Pierce, Florida.
