Philadelphia, Pa. - Adelphi University senior
Salvatore Tuttle was selected 69
th overall by the Rochester Rattlers in the eighth round of the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Draft, held on Friday, January 22. Tuttle joins a long line of Adelphi lacrosse players to move on and play at the professional level, most recently Joe Vitale who was selected 57
th overall by the Charlotte Hounds in 2012.
Tuttle is a two-time LT. Col. J.L. Turnbull Award winner, an honor given to the Division II Attackman of the Year. He is also a two-time USILA First-Team All-American, Northeast-10 Player of the Year (2014) and Northeast-10 Rookie of The Year (2013). In addition, Tuttle has amassed 215 points, courtesy of 136 goals and 79 assists over the past three seasons.
The Adelphi record book is riddled with Tuttle's stats. He is currently fourth in both points (215) and goals (136) on the all-time list and ninth on the all-time assists list with 79. Tuttle is also on the single-season goals list in third (57) and fourth (50), and sixth (86) and eighth (78) on the single-season points list.
Tuttle is the fifth Adelphi player selected in the Major League Lacrosse draft, joining Vitale, Donny Moss, Michael Gongas and Wes Green. Moss was a fifth round selection in 2009, going 39
th overall to Long Island Lizards, while Gongas, also a Lizards selection, went 75
th overall in 2007. Green was a Lizards selection in the 2006 MLL supplemental draft.
