2013 Northeast-10 Conference Spring Academic All-Conference Teams Release
South Easton, Mass. - Adelphi University led all Northeast-10 Conference institutions with 12 athletes across six sports earning Academic All-Conference honors for the 2012-13 spring athletic season, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Softball and women's lacrosse each saw three student-athletes make the list, men's and women's tennis each placed a pair of players, and golf and men's lacrosse each had one student-athlete recognized.
Adelphi softball, the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Champions and Super Regional participant, placed a trio of All-Region and All-Conference players on the Academic All-Conference team in Katie Andrews,
Emily Dorko and Victoria Wink. Women's lacrosse was represented by Katelynn Ciaci, Devan Crimi and Jacqueline Williams, who helped lead the Panthers to an NCAA Final Four appearance. Men's tennis received two nods in Andreas Hammar and Bryan Kallenberg, as did women's tennis in Samra Redzematovic and Maria Toft. Aaron Burton represented the golf team, and Aidan Bernardo was lauded from men's lacrosse.
Adelphi bumped its total to 20 student-athletes who earned Academic All-Conference for the 2012-13 academic year including the fall, winter and spring seasons. The Panthers also improved their Spring Academic All-Conference representation by one from the 2011-12 season, which saw Adelphi place 11 student-athletes on the list for the second-best total in the league.
A total of 92 student-athletes representing 15 of the 16 Northeast-10 institutions have been honored with the recognition.
The 92 individuals were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and on the playing field in baseball, men's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's indoor track & field.
For a complete list of the Academic All-Conference selections, which are chosen by a committee vote of Faculty Athletic Representatives (FARs) and other athletic administrators, please see below.
