Garden City, N.Y. - Kevin Kennedy, a graduated senior who played for the men's lacrosse team, was one of seven end of the year major award winners as announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association earlier today. The Massapequa, N.Y. native was named the Most Outstanding Long Pole Midfielder for Division II.
Kennedy, who was named a First-Team Northeast-10 All-Conference and First-Team USILA All-American earlier this year has now added the Long Pole Midfielder Award to his resume. Last year, he was named to the NE-10 First-Team and earned his first All-America nod with inclusion to the Second-Team.
During the Panther's 2013 campaign, Kennedy started and played in all 17 contests at the long pole midfield position. He recorded 15 points on 10 goals and five assists while scooping 41 ground balls and causing 10 turnovers on the defensive end of the field.
Adelphi finished the year with a 14-3 overall record, 10-1 NE-10 mark, shared a portion of the NE-10 Regular Season title (the first time the team has accomplished this feat in program history) and made it to the NCAA Final Four.
