Siepiola Promoted to Associate Director of Athletics

Siepiola joined the Adelphi Athletic Department in 2003.

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Robert E. Hartwell announced today, February 27, that Adam Siepiola has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. Siepiola joined the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in 2003 and has served as Assistant Athletic Director since 2011.
 
Siepiola will continue to oversee the Sports Information Department while taking on additional responsibilities which will include marketing, sponsorship, Northeast-10 and NCAA Tournament management and oversight of athletic teams. He will also continue to manage the Athletic Department's Hall of Fame and Panther Club.
 
Since coming to Adelphi in August of 2003, Siepiola has held the roles of Sports Information Assistant, Coordinator of Sports Information, Assistant Athletic Director for Media and External Relations and Head Coach of Cross-Country and Track and Field. During that time he has also served on the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships Committee, the NCAA Division II East Region Volleyball Regional Rankings Committee, the Northeast-10 Cross-Country/Track and Field Meet Management Committee and acted as the Tournament Director for the NCAA Division II and III Women's Lacrosse Final Four in 2011.

Throughout Siepiola's tenure, the Sports Information Department has grown to offer live stats and high definition webcasting for home games. Additionally, he spearheaded the rebranding of the Athletic Department, implemented a quarterly newsletter for the Panther Club and oversaw the successful transition from traditional print media guides to digital media guides and publications.

The Hall of Fame Dinner has changed shape as well, adding a new category, Legendary Team, and expanded its use of video and introduced live streaming of the event in 2012. The Department has also greatly expanded its use of video and social media in the past two years, producing over 150 videos that feature original content and launching an Adelphi Athletics twitter account that has over 1,000 followers and regularly tweets during Athletic Department games and events.

Under his direction as the head coach of the cross-country/track and field programs, Adelphi captured five conference titles in cross-country, along with an indoor Collegiate Track Conference title during the 2009 track and field season. The women's cross-country program also achieve a national ranking of #25 during the fall of 2009 and qualified an individual for the NCAA Cross-Country Championship meet in 2007 and 2008 while  having seven athletes earn NCAA All-East Regional honorees, three All-IC4A selection and one winning the individual IC4A Cross-Country title.

On the track the Panthers produced two All-Americans at the 2010 Indoor National Championship meet, the first for the program in 25 years. In addition Adelphi qualified 15 athletes and two relays for NCAA National meets and had three athletes qualify for the USA Track and Field Junior National meet.
 
A 2003 graduate of St. John Fisher College, Siepiola received his Masters of Business Administration from Adelphi in 2012.
