Box Score Garden City, N.Y. - The fourth seeded Adelphi University volleyball team hosted fifth seeded Ravens of Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 Tournament quarterfinal match-up on Tuesday, November 19 in the Center for Recreation and Sports. The Panthers dug out of a 1-0 hole to pick up a 3-1 in and advance to the semifinals, 15-25, 25-21, 25-22 and 25-18. With the win Adelphi improves to 19-11 overall.

Kaitlyn DeStefano led the Panther attack with a game-high 21 kills and posted an attack percentage of .485, while Mandy Stanislovaitis had 12 kills and Shelby Stoner chipped in 10. Katie Bryson collected a game-high 45 set assists, while Haley Blunt paced the defense with 20 digs and Sierra Crook added 17 and Stanislovaitis managed 10.

The first set was all Franklin Pierce, as the Ravens moved out to leads of 6-2 and 20-13 on the way to a 25-15 game one victory. The second game looked to be more of the same as the visitors open the action with a 8-4 spurt, but Adelphi would eventually knot the action at 11 and take a one point lead, 12-11 on a Bryson service ace, one of her four on the game. From there the Panthers would out score the Ravens, 11-6, opening up a six point bluge, 23-17 and would eventually close out the game, 25-21.

The third game was very tight, seeing ties at one, three, four, nine, 14, 15 and 16, however the Panthers applied pressure late and out scored the Ravens, 9-6 down the stretch, taking a two games to one lead on a DeStefano kill, 25-22. A 10-10 fourth game turned into an Adelphi rout, courtesy of a 14-5 run that put the Panthers comfortably ahead, 24-15 and a Stoner kill would send the Brown and Gold into the semis, 25-18.
