South Easton, Mass. - Adelphi Univeristy baseball claimed two out of three top weekly awards for the Northeast-10 Conference, with junior Anthony Zarrella earning Player of the Week and freshman Donato Signore being dubbed Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday. Along with the two major awards, seniors Justin Farnum and Jamie Liebowitz and freshman Mike Cranston all landed on the weekly Honor Roll.

Zarrella had a monsterous week at the plate for Adelphi. The Panthers' first baseman drove in a team-best 13 runs, and batted .455 (10-22) with four doubles, a home run and five runs scored. The junior slugger went 4-5 with a double against Felician, went 2-3 with a home run in Saturday's win over Assumption, and collected five RBI in Sunday's victory over the Greyhounds.

Signore posted a team-best .476 batting average (10-for-21) during Adelphi's four-win week. The rookie infielder scored seven runs, drove in three and struck out just two times while recording five consecutive multiple-hit games.

Cranston picked up two wins on the hill last week, tossing 13 innings and scattering 10 hits for a 2.77 earned run average. The rookie pitcher fanned eight batters to pick up road wins against Felician and Assumption, improving to a staff-best 4-0 on the season.

Farnum batted .455 (10-22) during the week, scoring five runs and driving in a pair, while Liebowitz batted .333 (7-21) and drove in 11 runs on the strength of three doubles and a home run.
