Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will kick off its 4th Annual Jennifer Montgomery Breast Cancer Awareness event on Friday October 8, with a fun run/walk for the students, faculty, staff and the Garden City community.

The fund-raising efforts for the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline will run throughout the month of October with the sale of "Think Pink" t-shirts and other items such as mugs, bags and pens.

Each of the fall sports teams (field hockey, soccer, and volleyball) will all host "Think Pink" games. In addition, softball is hosting its At Bat for A Cure clinic with proceeds also going to the hotline. Pink items will also be for sale at Homecoming on October 2.

Members of each of the 22 intercollegiate teams will also donate raffle baskets. The baskets, along with t-shirts ($10), which are co-sponsored by the Student Government Association, can be purchased in advance or at the walk on October 8.
