On Wednesday, February 4, Adelphi University Department of Intercollegiate Athletic hosted a Spring Kick-off Event at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place, New York. The event featured coaches and athletes from its spring teams to meet with alumni and athletic supporters and sponsors.
The special guest for the evening was Willie Randolph who chatted and posed for pictures with all in attendance. He also donated items to, and helped with, the live auction and raffle drawings. "Willie was a most gracious and special guest. He really enjoyed the evening chatting with Adelphi alumni and sponsors," Head Baseball Coach and Director of Athletic Development Dom Scala said. "He had a blast!".
Adelphi alum and former Major League Soccer standout Chris Armas was also on hand, as well as former Adelphi pitcher Bobby Lanigan who was drafted last June by the Minnesota Twins.
The evening was a great success and one that the department plans to sponsor annually.
